While it's fantastically important that the Aronson/Holmes '63 was at EBI, one that I think snuck in under the radar was Roger Crawfords Bad Company '67. It started on one of THE iconic Hot VWs covers of the mid/late '70s, but its rediscovery and rebirth hasn't been told. So come on then, let's have some stories, pictures and everything else about this rather awesome car!

Awesome, thanks Dan!

One story I heard was that the BRMs on Bad Company were the ones off Tar Babe when they went to spin aluminium and spindle mounts. So which set on either restored car is the original?

It's not the original car - it's a repop. The original was cut up about ten years ago.

Oh, that's a shame. So recently too - what happened?

Neil

these are the correct BRMs, Roger still had them and they were bought from him for part of the Tar babe resto, for this weekend they were on the Bad company replica and Tar babe had some Flat 4 wheels on it.
Roger also still has the real doors with interior panels[when he sold the car the new owner was making a full on race car & fitting lightweight doors so didn't need the real steel ones] which he lent to Russell so the colour and sign writing/lettering could be correct

cheers Richie

Material has been on order for a long while, only one company was found that still could supply it but they missed there deadline a few times and its still being waited on, hopefully interior will get finished as original once it finally arrives Roll Eyes Smiley

Thanks for the details Richie. The colour of the car is stunning, and yes, the interior will finish it off perfectly.

So does the original car still exist in some form? Roof and quarters on a tube frame? Keith, didn't you say a while back that it was white? Or did it never get fi ished and then scrapped?

Richie has cover most of the story bit the interior will be done along with the stickers in the up coming months.
