EMS Crankshaft

Hello all, This is my first post here on the lounge, I wish I had found this place long before now. anyway. I have recently come across a good deal on a crankshaft that is stamped on the front counterweight EMS 78.4mm. I have tried searching the web as well as several forums including here at the Lounge and I have not been able to find anything. Anyone out there know anything about these cranks?
Thanks,
JDub

Its probably from Ed's Machine Service , he was in Stanton. It's probably a welded stroker. A good crank, not the detail of a Berg or Mance, but it will do the job.

Thank You Mr. Schwimmer! That will help a bunch. What state would Stanton be in? I am anxious to use it in my next engine build for my '63 bug hardtop.

Well, by doing google searches I haven't been able to find anything. Would be possible Ed's Machine Service had done some advertising in Hot VW's in the 80's or 90's? I would really like to know a little background on this crank I've got. speaking of which I can't wait to get it back from the shop so I can get started on my build. I've got plenty of questions to ask which I will do in another thread.
Thanks Guys!

Well, I heard from the shop today and my crankshaft is good to go. All it needed was a nice polish. I am going to pick it up this Saturday. Now I can start putting a plan together.
