As i am giving my 1600 cc some refresh work and a new cam i was thinking about the following . What do you guys prefer on stock conrods ? Original nuts re-used maybe with a drop of loctite ? Or going for aftermarket nuts like Febi for example ?
I read they always need to be replaced .
Give me some advise please

Think of the millions of rebuilt engines using the original nuts.  You don't need to put new ones on.

Where are the new ones made?  Do you believe the seller or the packaging?  The original nuts are made in Germany.

You definitely got a point there .
Thats what i was thinking of as well , the new nuts might be cheap china stuff .
The one s i ve got are at least original German , with some quality Loctite .

My problem is , the more I learn and know about building engines , the more picky i get on stuff to make it 100 % perfect
