So as some of you might know , I am rebuilding the original S:t Moritz car . I has been disassembled, the old rollcage is out ! (Wasn t really up to date anymore) The new rollcage will be “oldschool” no fancy stuff to it , but welded and constructed by a professional . After this , there is plenty of body work remaining. 5 coats of paint have been removed. So weight saving at the same time. Here are some pics. I will try to do a full documentation of the rebuild here. By the way , does anybody knows where i can get little metal “discs” to weld close all the trim holes etc ?

“The Inch Pincher of Sweden” , I never heard that one before but somehow true ! Thanks Udo , you know I had this in mind for a very long time already , just never got the time and budget together at the same moment , but to me , this car really deserves it ! I also hope that with all the paint coats removed and the new rollcage , I can save some kilos and getting it into the 11 sec with the oldschool 1835 engine . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

While waiting for the body to come back I took the chance on working on our new custom built S:t Moritz towing quad . It is going to get a similar paint job , but done by myself with some oldschool gasser style effects . A little „wilder“ So my son s gonna have fun again to bring me down the staging lane and the cylinder heads stay cold too . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So , little by little the body comes along. Welding all the holes closed previously filled with bondo. Also the rear vent slots are back in where it had two plates of sheetmetal with rivets and more bondo

So , the car is almost ready to leave for the painter ! Welding has all been accomplished , just need to figure out a rear support for the fenders . With the new CSP Wasp there is no room for a stock like rear apron anymore . On top i was thinking of getting rid of it anyhow to improve the airflow . I guess the apron was working as a speed brake anyhow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Love it! To see the picture with the paint is high level cool historically! [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] - The original orange primer from 1976
The pearl from St Moritz Fashion The baby blue from the time Hazze painted it and then I bought it. Plus the "newer" layers after.
Thanks for sharing!

So the car is with the painter for 2 weeks now . He is on it to get it back to the S:t Moritz design (adapted to the shop and slight mods as wished by the original owners) I hope to have it ready for EBI . Fingers crossed

So finally it works with uploading pictures. The car is painted pure white inside, outside is ready for the pearl white . If everything works as planed , the car is going to get the white coat in the next couple of days. The goal is still to get it ready for EBI in Chimay ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I just had to..... Bulltofta Sweden 1976. 1st year of this car. I was there and it inspired me to build a VW dragster.
