Hi Folks,

yesterday evening by accident (always good to be search outside the top down relevance filters…) I found this über cool & early 70-73 DKP footage.

Better name for the vid would be „Inside DKP“ 😎

There are so many DKP club folks in front of camera having fun, joking around and all in all having a real good time!
Girlfriends, clubhouse, cruise to sea world, DKP display’s with the busses and ton‘s of trophies.
Racing action@Carlsbad, then bug-in 4@1970 OCIR with so many club car‘s performing so well on the strip.
M. Mahaffey, M. Thurber, Sarge, Art Alvarez, Jim brooks, Ron, Doug Gordan, Dean, Dyno, don crane, many footage about Aronson’s white car and many other I did not yet identify… Even check out that non of the car‘s has T-bars, just bumpers removed.

Seeing the car‘s in motion to sea world (starting point club house Chestnut St.) is on of my personal highlights.
Soooo great seeing those pic‘s in motion, of the time we all read so much about beforehand on the DKP website and Keith’s old and new testament.

But there is even more…If you look closely you can find DDS with support van (in the back the inch pincher?), „here comes da bug“ shortly, underdog pre paint…

Never saw this vid, either my club mates.
Think I saw some pic‘s out of that film but never ever in motion.

I am already in contact with Art about the question who made this vid.

So enough of my over-enthusiasm! Take a coffee, beer or tea and enjoy those great 52min recorded 52 years ago!

We from the DFL VW CLUB surly did.

Great video, amazing to see these cars moving and racing like you pointed out, it is incredible. What I found interesting besides the lack of T-Bars, is that a lot of cars kept their trim.

Quick google search finds a Kyle Aronson with the same username as that of the youtuber on Instagram... maybe a relation of Greg?

Probably filmed on 8mm cine, as opposed to Super 8. No, not you - that's the way it was/is...  Wink
