Stuck at work, would rather be working on my VW

Here in the US it is a short week for us. At the Uni I work at most everyone has taken advantage of the three day work week and already started a long holiday. So I am stuck here at work in a mostly empty building, bored out of my mind, thinking of all the things I could be doing to my VW. I want to go home and work on my car.

for a good reason Mike!
I am in "lockdown" too here @ work and it's a nice autumn day out. Perfect day to go up in the hills in the VW and go make some noise.

It's 38 degrees here in GP, Or. and I just bought 2 bugs for a 100 bucks delivered, a 65 Baja with nice IRS pan and a 63 chop top rag. I'm cutting up the 63. Te roof chop was done all in fiberglass and reeeeeeeeeeealy crappy at that. The floors are non existent, the rockers are rotted but it has 4 really nice fenders, a nice hood and decklid, working 65 swingaxle tranny and 4 rusty chrome 66-67 style wheels with 2 new tires. 2 wheels are 4 1/2J and 2 are 5J. They would look awesome sandblasted and powdercoated or painted. Just some more shit accumulating......

No more beer at work? Tough shit.
My boss buys me beer on Saturdays. One time he bought me some Double Eagle Imperial Stout. I pounded 2 on an empty stomach and damn near cut off a hand. I had to tell him, no more stout at work.
Who's the dumbass, him for buying it or me for drinking it?

I used to work for a custom door shop (basically a wood shop) in Scottsdale, AZ. Usual hours were 6a-2p, but if it was 5 and we were still there, boss man would go get us some beers. Now that I think about it, taking slugs of beer inbetween ripping boards on the table saw wasnt the brightest idea!
Thank god I can still count to ten!!

Fortunately, I have the job I want. But it can be dead slow at times. Which is really probably a good thing because the only times I get real busy is when the brown stuff has hit the fan. My boss told me to take a half day off so I came home and was immediately put to work cleaning house before the relatives arrive tomorrow. I should have stayed at work.
