Hi all,

Really keen to make this event this year but need some advice. I would be travelling from England with my 12 year old son so would prefer to fly. I remember someone telling me you can fly to an airport right next to the track?? Also, is there anywhere you can stay (hotel) near by. I know this is probably all obvious stuff but am looking for recommendations
Thanks in advance

 Hi Lee

Good choice of event  Cheesy

We went in 2017 and really enjoyed it. Flew from Gatwick to Gardermoen (which is the closest airport). I’ve looked back through emails and can’t find where we actually stayed but it was close to the airport. Very clean and tidy and the breakfast was a super healthy change from the usual English fried under a heat lamp rubber.

We didn’t hire a car as looking at the map it all looks pretty close but the routes/roads are a little deceiving so taking a cab each day ended up being a little pricey - around £40 each way I remember for something like 10km. Don’t even ask about the problems with booking collection from the track. So if you can get a good deal on an airport rental, I’d go for it.

I’ll add more if I remember it

Good luck

Gardermoen Raceway is at the side of Oslo Airport. Just fly to there. Best way to move there is by renting a car. Its easy to rent a car at same time when buying the flight tickets.

I have used next hotels: Clarion, Scandic and Quality hotels. They were all fine and I can recommend those.

Thank you both, exactly what I needed. I have a good contact in the travel industry but it’s always better getting previous experience/recommendations.

Hi Leec! Thrilled to hear that you’re considering coming over with your son! You have gotten som good advice already, but I would like to remind you that we have what we call the SCC taxi that brings people to a fro the airport and hotels. While it may not give you the same freedom as a rental it is considerably cheaper Smiley Let me know if you have other questions. Thanks and see you there Wink

Hi Jon,
Thank you for your reply. The taxi service sounds great. What hotels does it pick up/drop off to?
Thanks,
Lee

Hi Jon, Is the SCC taxi available from the Radisson Hotel and Conference centre?
Thanks,
