Hi guys,

I'm going to the MOT tomorrow and I hope that everything will go well.  Wish me luck!  Tongue

I'll keep you updated.  If everything turns out well I can continue to build up my car with the illigal stuff tomorrow...  Grin

Good luck. So glad we don't have to do that here in Florida.

screwed big time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Angry   Angry   Angry   Angry      Cry

Got a red card:  the complete engine and front suspension has to go...
and I need other wheels: the tires need to be all the same, now I had 145 up front and 205 in the back...

Don't know how I can fix this....  I don't have an original engine or frontbeam...  and I can't put my original wheels on it because it's porsche pattern...   Angry

Maybe you guys can give me some advise...

no need to do that, it is allready pretty flat out there.  Grin

anyway, i dont know if you can higher a front beam of a beetle with splines, so i can't help you with that.
for the wheels, did you have the original drums redrilled? if not you can still put on the 4 lug wheels if you dont have studs... make sire all sizes are the same. (165/80/15) don't go out and buy the wheels as they are quite expensive new and you will not use them. ask around to have some. i might be able to help you as i am getting these tires for my square when i put it back to original state and go to MOT...  Wink
BUT they can't make you anything if your car is from before 68. there is no 'gelijkvormigheidsattest'.

when i go to the MOT i always put some slack in the trottlecable that it only pulls open halfway.  Grin
they can't tell the difference between a 1200 and a 2300. they can only guess by the muffler and carbs. maybe someone can provide the right engine for a week...

hope it helps

keep us posted

yeah, but I'm a cheater, my car is a 72 with an older look...  I know I know, but when I started the project I knew nothing, I was into the GTI scene...  Roll Eyes   Grin

I will try an other station, next week...  If that doesn't work I need to search an original front beam and an engine and wheels I can "use"

no problem on the cheating, a lot of older vw's had later pans on their cars. and it is hard to find a good car and pan on the same car. but that means you need the right wheels . look it up on www.goka.be i think 165/80.15 is the right size or 155/80/15. just make it look good and as 'stock' as possible. i went twice. once with the empi's and the second time with the empi's at the back and originals steel rims with the same tires up front. my excuse was they only had 2 tires in stock, but the other 2 would come in a week... never bought those. but i will have a set of original rims with 155/80/15 in a while as i have to pass the MOT every year. so it will be a good investment.

hang in there, it will work eventually
