I remember that article. Motor looks almost identical to my old Super Flow 2276, with the red 36hp fan housing

Isn't Max's red car with 5 spokes in same issue too? I do have a decent memory too for good cars. Motors too.

Hey Dyno - remember those days? Helping you move, rescuing all your trophies from the trash... Wink

You took me for a blast round the block in the car and suddenly drove like an idiot (so what's new? Grin) declaring "Quick, the cops are following us!". Happy days...

It may not be Cal Look as we see it now, but at the time that magazine came out it was a massive awakening to myself of all the Empi products that used to be available and if applied in moderation can make nice attributes to a Cal-look car Grin

Max Morleys car was the first 'looker' I ever had the pleasure to ride in and I got pretty much hooked from then on Grin

That's the issue of Volksworld that really sent me down the right path! I'd owned my bug since March of the previous year and was still pretty unsure of the styles of cars. I knew what I liked and didn't like, but had no idea about a cohesive look for my car. Then I saw that issue of the magazine and that was it - my '68 got dechromed, back end came back up to stock, the bonnet, decklid and rear lights were changed for '67 ones and my Dad and I painted it the brightest white we could get, just like the Taormina car! Everything about that car just looked right for me.
