I am searching for a sufficient breather box für my 2276ccm type 1 engine.
Whitch size or manufacturer do you use?
Maybe anyone can post pics of his engine/breather box.....
Thanks.

I run a Bugpack breather box with a feed from each rocker cover and a return to the oil filler

I use a Sil Modesti breather box. The valve covers vent into the bottom and the carbs bleed off the top. There are two baffles between the top and bottom fittings. It works very well and looks great.

I have always used the Bugpack boxes screwed to the back of the shroud- for the big motor, 2" ABS courtesy of Home Depot. I should find a picture...

Now when we got to the breatherbox conversation, what does the majority of people here think about these in your valvecovers
A big no no , or worth of a try ? I do have a Bugpack box but I though of trying these in my covers.

Looks like a mess waiting to happen to me.
The GTV uses the ol' hose to the EMPI aircleaner breather.

i know from experience the amount of oil that gets thrown around by the valves, i just had the hoses on their loose once and it went everywhere. Those filters will fill almost instantaneously and then drip.
I am using a Gene Berg tower and a Clyde Berg breather box, valve covers into CB box, then CB box drain into GB box, fuel pump linked to GB box as well.

2" i.d. by somewhere around 12~14" long (kinda forgot), all screwed to the back of the shroud. Metal screen inside as a baffle, sponge stuffed in just above the highest fitting, and a whole bunch of holes drilled in the top to breathe- cheap, works great!

for engine as 2776ccm I would use VWSS custom breather tube... made of aly, propper stuff. You can see them on most Fastest bugs and buses in UK
(for egzample: Glyns, Pauls digger and 12.5 sec bus, Dazes, quite a few people from JG54Grunherz etc...). just go to the VWSpeedshop.com.
all best. GreenTom /Molotov/

I'm currently using a GWD one which has been very good and I'm liking the look of the new CSP one, we might put one of those on my girlfriends new 2332.

I'm using a Berg...never got around to hooking up the hoses for the valve covers though. Back in the day, before breather boxes became popular, it was common to run a hose from one valve cover to the other (with a small notch cut in the center) over the top of the trans...my choice
. I'm using a Berg 1 1/2 quart sump and keep the oil level just a hair over the first mark on the dipstick...which seems to eliminate a lot of the need for a breather box IMO. My $.02
