same here. love hectors car! but i perfer it with the bumpers, and indeed it is running black t-bars at the moment and i like it alot with the black exhaust as well. not some shiny ceramic coated one or stainless steel muffler. just plain black paint. i like that.

and i have had a long time figuring out that Stephans car is the same car as Jim Lowe's car...  Roll Eyes it does change a car so much with painted or raw BRM's. i think Azure62 (Huh) was looking for ideas about it, but here you have the proof. just a matter of taste really. but i still like raw ones.
and Bill's car, classic!

I have that issue of Super VW. Stephan was kind enough to send me a copy several years ago when I emailed him about his car. (Always been one of my favorites.)

Sept 90 hot vws was the first vw magzine I ever bought.
I knew then what kind of car I wanted.
Cool cars, I like the dash of Bill Swimmer car with monster tach in place
of the origanal speedo.

Remember the days BEFORE the BRM repro wheels, Flat-4 Empi steering wheels, etc..., were available ?
How excited and jealous you were when you saw a car featured that had those items you just dreamed about ?
Ah, the old days.

Call them what you want, but while you guys are trying to keep a shine to your "OG" mags, I will be out driving my car with the repop burners.  Grin

There Is No Problem Just Stating Eveything Old Gets Repoped which is good in a way Because it Drives the Pice up On Original Stuff but on the Down Side Everyone has the same thing because of Repops

roland, problem is there is somebody who is saying "those were the days" about cars he has previously insinuated belonged to the "resto cal" trend, not the real Cal Look, because of moldings, bumpers, whatever. Now he's applauding these cars as part of an era that were "the days"  Those cars are about identical then as they are now (Stephan's is much nicer now, I've seen it then and now )
