2,4 L type 4 owned by John Elnef, DK 2 L type 4 owned by Keld Hejlesen, DK, back in the early 80's...(these "shorty" IDA manifolds were used in the 90's on Elnef's engine(picture above)) Cheers from Carsten Griebel www.griebel.blogspot.com

here's my oval with short berg manifolds
I did not know it was possible to use the Gene Berg Short manifolds with a wide cooling housing? I thought that you had to use the round fanshrouds?? This is actually good news since I wanted to use the 181fanshroud! Was this one modified to make it fit with the IDA's??

here's my oval with short berg manifolds
hi axam48IDA......... your manifolds are not short, they are a GB590 ( 6 1/4" ), GB 587 is a short manifold ( 4 3/8") for IDA with only fan housing 36/40 HP!!!!!!!!! for my new motor 78x90.5 , i have the GB 590 manifolds, theses manifolds are the best for IDA,they are developped on the flow bench and dyno to provide the best air speed of the original " SKAT TRAK ". features equal length, curve and cc's on each port runner so that all the cylinder and ports work same. they are developped by gene and clyde BERG himself......... my fan should 181 " look rusty " Before........... After........ with my new steel screw I dont want cut the cylinder shroud because the manifold is too large..........i cut the manifold they are ported with my 043 head happy new year the loungers.................

Is it still needed to cut the front right velocity stack with these GB 590 manifolds if you want the rear decklid to close as original?? Or are these low enough to clear the decklid properly?

I dont care what anyone says those GENE BERG manifolds are fucking ugly! Yeah, but form follows function and those can be ported like crazy also you can mount the carb either way to suit your need. Another thing that a lot of folks forget is the the Berg manifolds really fit tight so when they are match ported they fit exactly the way they should. Many other manifolds need to be welded or bushed to achieve the same fit.

Yeah, but form follows function
