I thought NSU's had some really nice Fuch style rims with a slightly different spoke. Should have used those. Nice car though.

I'm not sure the lines of that car suit a "nose-down" Cal-look attitude.  Seems like the kind of car you would want sitting level.

On the other hand, I'm glad to finally see a use for all those 14" Fuchs!

one of those cars that looks the same going forward and backward. Like some Renaults.

Nice "wipe look" NSU.

Does that have a wankel motor in like other NSU's?

They had air cooled 4 cyl. in them. I used to have one that would come into BAP occasionally.

Not to get too sideways, but several years ago, I ALMOST purchased a '61 Auto Union Station Wagon for $900.00.  I envisioned a 2 liter upright up front or a pancake in the rear.  Slammed.  Lot of fabrication work, but it would have looked great.  The NSU, Auto Union and other small cars of that ilk are pretty rare here, but no less interesting.  I briefly owned a K70 recently and thought the drivetrain really cool...........front drive four banger with a factory solex sidedraft, inboard disc brakes up front.............too bad that car is no beauty queen!  But then again, that is in the eye of the beholder.....be holdin' the title.

Anyway, didn't mean to hijack your thread Kobus, but just appreciate seeing people owning and building different vehicles.

    Hi Keith

I have talked to Dan at Competition Engineering in regard to building the chassis. I will be using an IRS transmission with 14x6 VW thing wheel in the rear with 12x3 in the front. We will have the front end set up as a rack and pinion steering with all VW brakes and narrow beam. The engine will be a 1776 cc plenty of power for this car with 48 IDA webers. As soon as Dan calls me it will be a quick project.

   Take care

true, true.
but when i did that a few weeks ago i was in amsterdam staggering around with a friend who was visiting.
i guess i wasn't supposed to smoke as many as if they were cigarettes. Cheesy

anyway, found this on kobus's blog:

if he were to drop in a VW engine, i think a non-merged dual quiet pack would suit it very nicely!!

and isn't that orange shade, a VW colour for type 3s of around 1971? just wondering...

Whoa... those cars look like the end result after a BMW 2002 and a Chevrolet Corvair had sex. And I don't mean that in a bad way. Very interesting cars. My favorite color always being orange, I tend to dig this one.
