I don't know if this has been said before, but a freakin SWAMP COOLER... God I hate those things. 1. They make your car look stupid. 2. They look like it'll rip off your door. 3. They're like 20 years too old. Your car is from the 60's and that thing is from the 40's, well done! white window rubbers candy paint HAHAHA!!! NICE! You both brought up excellent points. Luftsick, thank you for clarifying the previous mystery.
Okay, I'll add to the list; louvered hoods/bonnets and running boards.

Fake Patina. Anyone who paints there car and adds fake wear and tear are just posers. Word. Couldn't agree more. What wallows even deeper in utter lameness? Taking a brand new or late model Golf and applying that fake/gay p*t*na b.s. to only the hood, then adding a roof rack. To take it to the next level... "slam" the car. Egads, I just vomited in my mouth. Can't believe I used the s-word. I feel scummy.
Oh and Dave, that picture just wrong on many levels. You don't play fair.

I agree with this 99.99% of the time - but with one exception... James Wooton's oval - the body shell itself is "as found" but all the panels were painted to match the body! It even used to run a rusty fibreglass flip front! Not really a traditional cal looker though, just a damned cool race car.

bubble Qtrs. I don't doubt, but flames look awesome on certain cars. I've always loved this car and it's fast as fuck.

That poor Savannah Beige car... only element from making it perfect; flames. Hated 'em as a kid, still hate 'em. But, to each their own.

I haven't been on this board for a few months, but couldn't help myself from chiming in here.......THAT car had better be "fast as fuck" because the flames make it as wrong & ugly as two men fuckin'!

I really don't know what it is about this car, but I love it. I usually don't follow that path that others have laid down for me and don't limit myself to the same old "February 1975 Hot VWs Cal-Look" rules.

Wow... this is rather shocking. I actually agree with McNew, for a change.
John, many of us believe the same, regarding that Hot VWs theory. That's the beauty of all of this; we're able to build 'em the way we each see fit. I don't dig the "rules" concept, either. To each their own.

Sooo...are you saying the owner is a FLAMER? Actually I do like that car considering the flames BUT only that one! There.. I said it. Never again! Besides, if you seen the owner of that car you best be nice. He's also working on my car!

Scott's car's been flamed like that forever and, as Steve pointed out, you wouldn't want to say anything about those flames in his presence. The guy's a hot rodder to the core and has spent time working at Boyd's and SoCal Speed Shop. Can we move back to racks and um nipple caps again

Thanks , Sarge. You said it well.....I didn't want to get into this about Scott's car. The car is "bad-ass" and Scott knows his stuff. He's a great guy and we've always gotten along, BUT, I certainly wouldn't want to have him in my face.
