the perfect intake on a cal-look engine
«

All is well and the pieces for the time less perfect cal-look engine are collected. But what about intakes? Long vs short.........blasted vs polished or just as they came from the blister packing...maybe even painted.........welded or nonwelded.......so what do you think it takess from a intake maifold to be true cal-look?

Skat Trac Talls! Doesn't matter what you do to them. Non-Welded looks better but welded=HP. I'd sacrifice Looks for HP... usually!

I don't care so much for the brand name, I love them as seen on Jim Kaforskis beetle: welded, with the welded on material visible, so that it looks like snake skin! Porn to me!

I am partial to the short reversed manifolds. Probably because you dont see them as often as talls. Here are a few in my collection...

I LOVE those Race Trim manifolds but they really should be finished in Black wrinkle finish paint
I've got a pair of Race Trim manifolds but they are for a pair of 40dcn's

I have to get them match ported first, which means I still need heads to match them to!

I was thinking that but then I also got a pair of dds 40dcn manifolds and when compared to the race trim's the race trims have a much thicker base to them (around the bolt holes) but apart from that they are identical

there isn't only the manifold for 48 which can be cool
i find that manifold for weber 40dcnf and the other carburettors of this type were cool also
, sometimes I say to myself that if I had to be made a small engine , Just for cruising in town or in caravan club rally , i would like to own one of these

those are almost exactly what I have
but mine are for the earlier 3 bolt type carbs - They rule!! they will work perfectly on a nicly set up 1641, just like mine
