Hi Russel,

I'm trying to get my car finished for the EBI.(proper paint job this year)
I'm trying to get it to look as close as a period gasser as possible(except for the turbo set up).

I'll keep you posted,

Looks like there will be not much Nostalgia Racing at EBI#2... Huh I'm still hoping that we'll have something like Gasser Wars, old cars vs old cars, old cars vs. new cars, whatever.

Russell, what's the deal about the Underdog? Did I miss something? Is it the original car? I know Underdog I went on it's roof in the lights at OCIR, is it Underdog II ? Come on, show some pics...

I'm sure there will be plenty of Outlaw Flat Four cars out there, so the likes of Inch Pincher 4, Stitch Up, Natural High, etc. could be there. Of course, I can't speak for all of them, but I know that a fair few are planning on going! Grin

I'm intrigued about the Underdog too - I remember seeing this from Deano: "Jim Sibley from Washington painted the #2 car. Once the Tar Babe was finished and raced, the #2 car was parked out back of Fleming & Aronson's shop on Howell street for a long time (no lock or chain). Engine was removed, as were the BRMs, but the decklid was stolen, and later returned. The "remains" of the #2 car were sold to a guy in Compton, who also bought the spare engine from the Baby Huey gasser, through Gene Berg. I worked at F&A at the time, and had the honors of removing any and all signs of the old paint, so no one would ever know what it used to be. I sanded all the lettering off, and primered it light gray. Greg and I added some aluminum work, and put it back together as a complete racecar. The car then ran at Irwindale a few times, and the guy over-revved the engine and bent all the valves. Gene took the engine back to his shop, and that was the last time I recall seeing, or hearing about the #2 Under Dog." on this thread: http://cal-look.no/lounge/index.php/topic,3231.0.html
