I don't think these are new Keith, I saw a replica fuch at the 2007 Autosport show and i'm 90% sure that Braid was the name of the company. The quality isn't very "historic" looking, certainly not classy. I was actually having a tough time deciding how they were made as they look like a steel wheel as far as the thickness of the edges goes. Still, nice to see something interesting eh? I tried to talk to the chap on the stand but he spoke very little English and I spoke even less of whatever he spoke (Spanish?).

I wonder what they think people are gonna do with the 11s and 12s?  Street tires don't exist for such a wheel.
Also, if those weights are accurate, I wouldn't trust them.  Those weights are the same or less than real FORGED Fuchs.

Hi,

If it it the same Braid brand that also does a lot of other high quality, and lightweight rims (and by the look of the webpages it seems that way), then I would say that the weights listed could very well be accurate. Braid is renowned for making high quality, lightweight rims, very popular by circuit racers and track-day attendants chasing unsprung weight/mass!  Cool

They were at the AutoSport show again this year. The centre looks all wrong, the hole is round but the outer isn't, if that makes sense! You can kinda see it in the picture. We asked if it was a prototype and were they going to sort it on the production ones, but the guy said they were not meant to be a carbon copy of the original  Huh They never seemed to have anyone on the stand that could give you much info on wholesale prices etc so we passed Wink

I saw them at Autosport last year. I'm guessing that they are slightly different to avoid copyright issues - I've heard that Porsche are very protective of their designs!

yep Braid is a spanish wheel manufacturer, they even made wide 5 lugs back in the day, rarer than brm's (and even uglier  Grin )

I΄ve just called Braid direct, I live about an hour away from their factory in Barclelona.
They said they are selling through 3 outlets, 1 here in Spain one in the U.S and another in the UK.

They don΄t have the wheels featured on their on their own web site (which is a bit nasty to be honest) but say they are producing and the 3 outlets all have stock and are selling.

The UK outlet is Design911 Porsche centre

Braid are very well known here and produce top quality products.
