Hi guys,

Maybe this question is more for the dutch and belgian guys here.  I'm thinking to remove my chrome strip rubbers for plain black ones.
Now I see in the paruzzi-catalogue: "cal-look" rubbers and "original rubbers without chrome strip"....  They are both plain black but what is the difference?  the originals cost twice as much as the cal-look ones...  Or is it just a "quality" issue....  Hope to receive more info and pictures if there are visual differences...

or check the CSP catalog
CalLook and Standard version both carry no chrome or plastic trim
that is why the confusion
but it is indeed two different models
pm me on gh@csp-shop.de and I will quote for your model the callook and std version (off course the std version in german quality)

Both Look the Same both Black without Chrome But Remember you get what you pay for  Most Cal Look Rubber Kits Vary in Thickness depending on who's kit you use also the Cal Look Rubber kits all have a Heated Seam which you can see but some are better then others depending on who and where it was made Japan?Tiwann?India? Ect. Now on the Original Window Kits without chrome they are Original Quality Fit Well And and have a nice looking seam and the rubber holds up much better.  In the past I have used the Cal look Rubber kits from BugPack They are made in the USA and the seams are not to bad, West Coast Metric are also made in the USA and are also good but the Rubber is wider then stock the only advantage to that is if you car was painted at on time with the winbows in the wider lip covers the old paint edge. hope this Helps  just Remember you cant get Better Rubber and trim Piece's then the VW Factory German made.

The cal look rubbers are more rounded profile than the standard ones, and can look really bulged. Wink

not sure if you have popouts, but if you do you can always paint the chromestrip Satin black and it will look like a callookrubber.

yeah,  I have pop outs and that was also a question...  I don't like the look with all black rubbers and "aluminium strips" on the pop outs...  I will paint it black together with my front side window chrome...

Thats what I thought too, have a set of both. and the Cal look ones look fat.
While the 'Standard' (from a spar Käfer) are more flat.

original rubber would have molded corners for the bends, where cal look is a straight extrusion, molded corners release the tension on the sharp bend of the rubber in the corner to prevent cracking and ultimately fit better then the non molded versions...
