Yeh I remember this car, It was one of two 67's that I put it together for a friend of mine (Bobby Sicareos). This one ran around in purple primer for a while and was nicknamed the Purple People Eater. 2200cc?? engine, Super Flow heads by Kawell and lots of nitrous. The second one was a pearl metallic blue with a 2200cc?? motor. 14: to 1 compression Welded Kawell heads, magneto all the race goodies. decklid said "INXS" I don't know where the cars ended up after Bobby passed away.  Good friend and good times.

I suspect that this is the same car that ended up in VW Trends in the late 80's?  It was in the issue with the pink Frameworks street car on the cover.  I will have to see if I can find it.

Cool car. Fully polished alloys too, which I guess is against current Cal Look trends.. I really like the cars from that era, more flashier.

There was no color code. It was candy burgandy with a mix of "rootbeer". No, its not a desert but thats what the painter called it.

OOOOOh yah, a few of weeks after he got the car from you. I puy alloys, a lowered beam, 48 motor and some other goodies on it. Well he locked the keys in the car and called me to come help him get in to it. It was night time at the Orange Mall, I got the trunk open (wasn't latched down good) and crawled into the trunk, reached through the glove box and unlocked it. Right then 2 Orange PD guys pull up and want to know "whats going on".
We tell them the story, new car, not re registered yet, keys locked inside ETC, ETC. Well what I didn't notice was Bobby put the liscence plate off of his Porsche on the car because it LOOKED COOL. (plate said "2DAM FAS) Anyhow the cops wanted to know why I'm breaking into a VW with the wrong LP, thats not registered to either one of us! Bobby looked EXACTLY like Cheech Marin and could talk his way out of anything. Basically they got tired of hearing all kinds of double talk, the VIN came up clean and they let us go. Yah he was a character and will always be missed,
