No not mine, a good pals. Used daily for the last ten years so it runs a hot 1600,lightened and balanced, cam, bolt on goodies etc. Great for motorways and daily use. Its now been retired to weekend use and holidays so a 1776 is in the pipeline.
His daily is now a squarback - total type3 freak !!!

very nice fastback. it has some really nice goodies on it that i envy... the only thing i never liked on any type3 is the big and small tire combo like this one. but i really would like to know how he fitted the Wide O's under the arches as i thought they were really fat tires...

The car used to run 205/70s on the back, Wideovals are a little bigger but with a bit of work they fit nicely and don´t rub.
Juan (the owner) still has the squarback which he uses daily but it now looks completely different

Rear is factory height, wheels are 5.5, wideovals were fitted then the rear arches were pulled (ever so slightly) to clear the rubber nothing more. Juan used a metal bar, patience and a few beers, worked a treat, doesn´t run even under hard cornering..........would with folk in the back though !!!

Huuuuh nice fasty ! coulor is very nice... There is a simple trick to get some more space at the rear. Mount bug brakes (with 19mm B.cyl.) and the rim goes 5mm per side inwards.

That is one tough Fastback!! There is a simple trick to get some more space at the rear. Mount bug brakes (with 19mm B.cyl.) and the rim goes 5mm per side inwards.
Dont sacrifice the brakes!!! Widen the rear wheels... add more backspace. That will pull the tire in the fender

Very nice. I haven't always liked Fastbacks, but this one looks really well done. Makes me kind of think my garage needs another VW in it!

If he ever wants to sell it, let me know Lofty Think its Savannah but I´ll check, its the og colour although its been repainted once many moons ago and it didn´t really need it then to be honest. Doubt he´d ever sell it..........it gets more attention and affection than his wife

Meant Seasand or Savannah Beige. My old 67 Squareback was Seasand and it looked like that, but brain didn't engage properly when typing. Very nice though.......

How about a pic of the seat bases? How did you mount them? Did you adapt the seats to the stock bases?
