In Europe, the words "alloys" has always been the generic term for any alumin(i)um aftermarket wheel. Fuchs, being the manufacturer or Porsche "alloys" gets the nod for making the best, er, alloys! But then you knew that!

And one of them is still a Fuchs. The word Fuchs is not a plural, it is the German word for fox. You wouldn't say the word fox without the s sound at the end, would you?

I still call them either "earles"," lates", or "R's" alloys depending on what they are. I usually don't carry enough spit to call them "Fuuuccchhh's"

No in Germany we pronounce it "Fooks". But to be honest I don't understand the whole discussion. In Germany these wheels are called Fuchs because thats their name. So everbody knows which wheel is meant, like you say gasburner or pedrini...

That alloy is all Fuched up! I guess it could have been worse; if it was a Fuchen R... or is it?
I remember seeing German car magazines when I was a kid like Gute Fahrt,Auto Motor und Sport that showed brand new Porsches on the cover rooster tailing gravel. I always thought what those Germans saw in that? Fuchen up their wheelwells with rocks and gravel as they pop the clutch or drift around a corner for performance shots. It didn't look like they were in the show scene to me. Even recently when you see a German mag. covering the latest RUF, it shows them driving ( for ex.Yellow Bird )along a dirt road... fuchen haulin ass!
