Total on car is now 615,5 and before it was 664

Docol alone was 27,7kg less the other kg came from battery and other small things

Nice result! Chr-Mo cage all the way thus it seems. Probably good value per kg saved.

NICE!

I met Sören by coincident few weeks ago, when I delivered some car parts to him in Norrköping.
Suddenly we talked VW and your name/the job he did, came up. Cool!

John, having just read this thread from start to finish (I’m on holiday), what a journey you’ve been on! You’ve certainly shown amazing resilience.

I was so pleased the story had a happy ending when I finally got there and you made it through all the dark days with the car and your health.

It felt like a gripping novel with twists and turns, but ultimately an amazing tale of endurance and determination!

If I finally get my act together and race in Scandinavia and your there, I’ll buy you a beer.

Thanks for the story and the motivation.

Peter

Peter thanks for the kind words

A few years ago I saw your car at JPM you have also been on a big journey we can buy each other a beer

Its sometimes funny in what way people get involved in vw in 89/90 I painted a 60 type1 for a guy that later become a wery good friend and for payment I got my first car a 62 type1 I had it for daylydriver in 10years and later I made it a showcar and had it for about 10 more years before I sold it
Griebel was one of the guys who came in my friends garage at dayly basis and we are still friends 😉

I bought my buggy in 95 got it on the street in 96 first with a1700 type4 and later in 96 I put in the first big cc engine in it it was a type 4 2,4L my 2,4L was put together by m flow another local guy I also painted a car in exchange for putting this engine together
My 2,4L had a lot of upgrade over the years first time on dyno it made 167hp and last time 222hp with belt and mufler
First time I was on the strip was at bug run  in 97 ran 8,21 as far I renember and after that day I have been racing on and off
M flow and I is also still friends

I can see I also need a update for 2022 I was at 6 different races and it was as usually a season with ups and downs but made at last a new pb 6,70

2023 I dont think I will be out racing because last week I got a new knee and it will take some time to get on 100% again

I think its time for a little update on this projekt
At my last race in 2022 I lost my oil pressure because of a broken tap in my pump
All the damage is now fixed and got all the parts to put it together again
I also took the “fight” with the bad fiberdoors I bought long time ago also bought a new front with old style headlights and the body finally got some paint after 13years in primer same with rollcage
My new knee is getting better day by day
