That's my first topic here !

I build a 1679cc to my 67 ..Cal-look of course !

The engine would be :
As41 + rods origine
Piston 88mm
Light flywheel 200+ forge 69 equilibry + berg Damper
Engle 120 + 1.25 + chromo pipe with 9.5/1 ratio
041 ( 40x 35.5 )
010
carter sup
Dynomax 1 5/8 ( but double T-bird look better so ) ...

I want power BUT I prefer couple to drive with my 8x33 gearbox + 185/80 !!

So I have 48Ida OR 42dcnf !!
I don't want engine star run from 3.500rpm to 7.000rpm with no couple because the gearbox are 'long' !

So have you any experiences between both please !! ??

Thank's Bewitched !

In fact I 'prefer' look than Perfomances but between IDA Vs 42dcnf that's hard to choose ( If I do bad choose, I with regrete and restart all of the config engine ) ... Undecided

So if any people can help me to config 42dcnf or IDA for good work's ! That's cool !

they work on the floatbowls becaus the carbs sit in a different direction. so they get fuel when cornering. and i think they also do other stuff to them. great find on the 42's, i still wish i had a set for my type3...

hi max,
there was a topic about filters for IDA's some time ago, and the verdict was that ramflo filters aren't any good.
well, that's what i understood of it. i don't think they look really cool though Wink

Hi Maxx,

fist of all, congrats on your 1679 choice, this is a great Old School combo and, not often seen.
About the 42 DCNF, I thought I read somewhere that they were Gene Berg  second choice of carb; after the 48 IDA!
Not bad at all...
Those are really cool carbs, and those Ramflow are so.... sexy!
Your car will be well inspired.

See U@ EBI#2 ;-)

They work if you leave the foam out ! And just use the mesh covers. So no filtration. Grin
