...just depending on what you define as "fast". For me a 15-16 sec. car is not "slow" and still is payable and reliable.
So if "15-16 sec" is "fast enough", then I would vote for looking good and then going fast. The SSB is such a cool
car-but as a street car, it looks to crappy imho.

i quote gregor....i think 15 seconds are good for street car.

even if askin "speed or look" is just like asking "tits or ass"
who wouldn't want to have both?

i think cal look cars have to be fast not as last part of a little second but they have to be eye catcher.

this mean that look and speed count same way in a cal car in my opinion.

That is what I meant... If you only have the $$$ to do one, which would you do first?

It's vey simple, you wouldn't want to drive a shiny slow car, would you? I've driven both, shiny fast bugs and ratty fast bugs the impresion on the people's faces is still the same when you leave them like they're going the opposite way at the stop light.

You wouldn't be able to do this in a shiny slow car. Take a look at my 67 for sale, ask yourself, does it really need shiny paint work?
That's my view's anyway if you only have enough money to do one or the other.
A true Cal Look car is a one colour, no trim, nicely finished fast car that's with money permiting

RULE NO 1: BUILD YOUR SELF A MOTOR: BIG; HIGH COMPRESSION....LOT'S O POWER....try to make that thing live and while doing it trash gearboxes.....THEN WHEN THE MOTOR IS WORKING OK.....GET THE GEARBOX TO COPE........While doing that you end up racing...probably in a industrial area, and if you get away with no tickets or missups........YOU GET A SET OF NICE SHINY WHEELS WITH RACY RUBBER IN THE REAR AND NARROW LIKE A KNIFEBLADE IN THE FRONT.....................and your car starts breaking/winning and you want MORE, MORE, MORE......................................So after a long period of trashing and investing...there is probably no money left for the finish of the car, it sits right, it has attitude, it has ET to back it up but no finish and wallet is empty.....So I say SSB style....in style, but not broke!!!

 Looking Good!

Why? Because that's what a car does 100% of the time. The power is only visible when you're accellerating at the traffic lights or on a dragstrip...

(on the other hand a 1200 engine with turbo muffler for the looks would be pathetic as well...)
