What is the one thing that you got for you car that is most cherished.  What you had to wait and save for and would never get rid of?

For me it is my Berg 5-speed.  When I found out about them they had already discontinued production so every time I ran into Gene I would ask when they were going to start producing them again.  I even cornered him coming out of the John at Firebird during one of the Bug-O-Ramas.  He was most gracious at the time.  Eventually I was able to order the kit.  I purchased it when they were still $749, that was back in '96.  I finally had it in the car for the '97 Berg Cruise to Detroit.  Never look back.....!

For me it would be the IDAs. I have wanted a pair for years but couldn't afford them. Then I finally got a set last year. They are not on the car yet, but the day of reckoning is getting closer.  Grin

I'd have to agree with Louis, my IDA's. I've got lot's of goodies that I'm lucky enough to have been around to get, but the IDA's really meant something (and still do).

the top TWO things for me are... the LAST SET of hand ported 42x37.5 welded 'full on' 'original wedgeport' lonnie reed (the head shop) heads that were done by lonnie and given to me as a parting gift when closing the shop for all my help....and the second thing among many others ...are the 'very special' 'treuhaft bug-in 29' valve covers that were presented to me at half time at bug-in 1980 by treuhaft.. only 3 sets ever made...!!

Probably my 5.5" and 6" Fuchs (alloys).  I got them before prices got REALLY stupid, and will not allow myself to afford a set at today's prices.

My Fuch too.

I buy them last year.  Deep 5.5 at Freddy files, Ninove. They where in a really poor state. They needed to be welded and have a ton of good cares. Price was low but no one seemed will buy such wrecks  Undecided

I buy the deep 6 in Holland. Need also some cares but less than the others. I buy them in a specialised Porsche scrapyard.

It took me more than 30 hours to made them look correctly. It's not a perfect job, but they look nice. I'm proud of the job I've done.

I think it's my IDAs. Ok, they're not on a car at the moment, but I got them!  Cheesy

has to be my 48's. I got them from a good friend of mine that is no longer with us, back in 1991. They've always been a sweet set, even after all these miles. Thank you Mike Collins.
