From what I saw he would of been going home he walked from the crash and was completely cohearant and not a visible scratch on him. He will be very Sore but is for the most part OK.  The car sadly is gone  it was towed away by the roof.  Jason

Lee terrible to see, other than your car damage it appears you were very lucky not to be hit by the other car or hurt in the crash.
That car must have a zillion passes on it, hope the expensive drive train is OK.

Perhaps driver safety needs a thread of its own.
Accidents give me cause to reflect on my own safety equipment.
For example.
Racers with low back bug seats and a lap belt might consider…
Basic 5 point belts with a racing seat designed for the anti submarine belt.
A full face helmet and a HANS type device.
FYI amateur road racers will be required to wear a HANs devices starting this summer.

I bet Lee is already looking for a donor car. Wink

I think Lee's car (Tim's motor) is one of the quickest aspirated (non nitrous) street driven cars in So Cal.
For years Lee has run strong 11s and drove it to the car shows too.
I bet it will be back, quicker and 200lbs lighter. Cool

I'm bumping this thread because I recently purchased a "demon bugs" book (Great book Stephan) and was also curious what caused this accident.

Broken axle? was he still running a ZF or spool at the time?
