To those of you who passed on buying those 40 DCN Webers on Samba, thanks! They turned up at the swaps for way less dough. I don't think they've ever had fuel in 'em. The filter bases are toast but I was going to make my own bases and tops so I can run OEM paper filters anyway.

While at an old car and classic car show and swap meet (Iola, WI) last Friday I bought a front bumper with brackets to a VW Thing for $10 and a new-looking German brass timing gear for $1.   Cool

Tell me about it.
I started with a bartered for Johnie's Speed and Chrome 150 mph speedo and sold it for $125.
Then went looking for something for my car.
Now I have three different Tachs, the 120 mph speedo above, and a bunch of the little support gauges to go with them.

Like a lady with her shoes, I don't care what I have at home I still want to look at more.

Amen! After burying myself in actual car projects I found it a lot easier to collect gauges, carburetors, distributors, and wheels. Each one doesn't need a garage.  Roll Eyes

And good job on the Johnny's Peel & Fade gauge. As happy as I was when the shop I worked at outlived it, I still miss that place.

A NOS one of these from the sand pit

I'm thinking about getting it worked on.
Who's the best guy out there to get it bored for 94's, install bronze lifter bores, get piston oil squirters fitted? Plus the usual clearance for 84 and full flowed?

You know, for that to be totally authentic it has to have a can of the weakest mass-produced American beer in it. Coors was popular in the early '80s but if you like headaches then Budweiser will do.

And you have to serve it so cold that ice halfway plugs the opening when you crack it. It helps to freeze your taste buds.
