Those FF2 heads are most interesting.. These once belonged to Wayne Barrett, Kileen, TX, who ran them in both I/Gas (82x89), and in B/MC (69x89). One head dropped a valve back in the day, so they sent both back to Fumio, he eventually built a clone to the dead one, up-dated the first one, and it only took him 1-1/2 years.... Oh, and the COD bill was $1800! Notice the extra 8mm head stud on top. Compression is sky-high with 17cc in the chambers. They used to run this motor to 9600 rpm.
When I saw the port job and welding I knew it had to be a Fumio head, but the one I picked up didn't say anything. Udo Johnson saw me searching for the name, so he showed me the other head (RaceShop/ FF2).. A piece of history. Schley will go crazy with this find.

Not found today but found at a VW show in Arkansas in late August. A pair of NOS SB-12,s. Deano said they were the best he had ever seen. I could not believe my eyes when I saw them. A very lucky find for sure.

At Kymco's swapmeet yesterday, I got a very nice pair of 42 dcnf's for $100, a pair of type3 wrap around reflecters with very good reflecters for $20, and 1 type 3 gene berg manifold for $10. Also got a notchback Magazine ad from the early 60's for $5. A very good day

Yes I found it all in the VW / Porsche section...Still good stuff just got to keep looking....I posted the ads for everything as I alway's do and both manifolds are already sold. I'll let you know when I find another pair of tall ones in the same condition and I will let you know. You should come out to pomona the week before the classic because there is ALOT Of stuff I know I bring out the goodies during that time |
