Wow, looks like it's gonna be a heavy event. Even Dyno has to hold the letter P up on that banner.

Crazy.

Sorry... after finding The Lounge, there's no need for any other Cal Look site.

On to the real topic; VW PANIC this SUNDAY! Be there or eat hair!

Hope to see some D.K.P. and D.K.K. people.

Gary,

Candy Larsen & I stopped by after a trip in the morning to Oak Glen.  WOW - I was blown away, seeing all the cars and people that were there. (This was also the first panic that I have been to)

Lots of great cars, and awesome people.

Congratulations - great job well done.

Gary, thanks for putting on a great event. I've heard of the VW Panic! but have never been... till this year's. Nicely done.

Here are a few images from the day.

This could be potential trouble. Naw, just a good bunch of VW enthusiasts.

Nice engine in a D.K.P. Oval.

No VW event is complete without Dyno Don at the microphone. Here, calling out raffle numbers.

Secrets are out, now... the reason Sarge's paint looks so good; matching detail product bottle.

My favorite non-Cal Look car, there. This beautiful convertible.

It was really cool to see other D.K.K. people, there. Tod Fuller recently got a '59 Ragtop. He was able to get it lowered, disc brakes, wheels, exhaust, pop-outs, etc. Wait till this car's finished. It's gonna be nice, his other previous Cal Lookers.

When a D.K.K. club member gets a car, the only humane thing to do is apply club stickers. Randy caught me in the act.

Another view.

Turns out Dyno Don gave my  '67 a Double-Shaka approval.

We were hoping for more D.K.K. cars, but we got three. Better than none, yes?

D.K.P. was kind enough to allow our cars next to their's. THANKS!

File this in either Caption This Photo or the What the HELL? departments? HAHA!! Dyno... dancing with his breakfast safely tucked away in a white vessel.

Rayburn and I found this Oval Window on the sidewalk. Great... but where's the rest of the car? I hope he did well in the car show.

I was diggin' on this sticker.

Rear view.

Artsy-fartsy photo of Tod & his car in the reflection of Randy's car. Sorry... but if I have a camera, I gotta play.

Sarge Spy Cam... CAUGHT!

The only other time you'll see these trophies all next to each other, ever. I don't know what that means, but it's heavy to me, since I haven't had breakfast as of yet.

So now I know what my car will look like if I ever raise it back up and put the factory wheels back on. No sunroof and pop-outs... just the way I like 'em.

Loved this D.K.P. Oval... a lot.

Interesting Ghia.

And, my car.

Good times, overall! Good seeing many of you, too.

Ian, I'm not touchin' that one.

However... YOU can, because you live far away. I see these gentlemen at events quite often. Therefore, making it much safer for you.

It only LOOKS that way. Sarge actually acquired rock star parking status, that day. Sarge's car was in a nice spot and out of the way of foot traffic.

Much better than my location... I had to constantly watch my car and make sure that people weren't touching it. When will people learn to keep their kids and hands off of cars at a car show? SHEESH. Yelled at two people... two huge guys that were grabbing at my license plate and another guy was fingering my club sticker on my driver's side quarter window. Why are these people allowed in public sans adult supervision???

Okay, vent mode status: OFF

Christo. I can't even afford to look at that Cabriolet!!

It's everywhere. My car was parked at the VW shop a couple doors down from where I work last week. I went to check on it and I found a guy (a customer of ours AND a fellow VW/Porsche nut!) resting his foot on my [formerly] NOS EMPI bumper guard. I kindly removed it for him and informed them that they are rare, and expensive. He thought I was bullshitting him!!  Cheesy

Actually, there was nothing there when he parked. All that stuff grew in around it.

Mark let ME touch his car.

Riiight. John, you're exempt.

That sucks, Zach. People like that crack me up.

Shortly after I parked my car, this Sunday, I wiped it down. I left for a few moments to go register it in the show. I get back to put my show card on the windshield and I see that there was a huge nasty/greasy hand print on my passenger side rear fender. Good Lord. Had fun wiping THAT disgusting thing off. Probably better that I wasn't present... would've gotten my ass kicked for what I would've said to Lurch for palming my car. HAHA!!
