Johnny and his black 67 were around when I re-joined DKP in 2000.  He married and sold the car shortly afterwards and did without a car for a year or so before building the 64.  He still comes around occasionaly...I don't know if he's doing another VW though.

Yeh that car is/was(if its now in hungary) johnnys salgados(he built it for sure anyway). The club stickers in the window were given to him by the guy who he sold is black 67 to, I belive(see a ultra vw article for full details). The guy gave johnny the stickers to display in his car while he was taking a 'break' from dkp, the 'der zottig kafer' cal look club is sadly no longer around, but the guy obviously had some club decals 'in stock' still, it really is a nice touch I think. Both of johnnys cars are really inspirational to me and have had a lasting impact, the black 67 just had that cal-look x factor! Yeh garnet red is a sweet colour. They both ran Adam Wikk built motors aswell! Lets hope Johnny is busy building another ride ay!?
Cheers, Sam (UK).

Greg Lane bought Johnny's black '67, and now Slinger owns it.

Hi, I'm from Hungary. Sarge, your car is really fantastic! I saw  it several  times on internet,  but to read the story of the car n the Depo mag was great. The headline of the article is "DKP mindörökké!" which means: "DKP FOREWER!". I agree Smiley)
