Looking to trade my clean 1982 BMW E21/320i for a stock 1967/68/69 VW Bug. My car runs like new and just turned 150,000 miles. 5spd. roll-up windows and sunroof, also manual steering. Car is completely stock and has been well cared for. Air conditioner still works great. Color is Polaris Metallic Silver with black interior. Factory Hella driving lights still work. Current model CD player/radio with four speakers behind the factory speaker grills. New factory exhaust tip and reverse light switch. Two-way sunroof works fine and doesn't leak. Trunk still has original jack and the toolbox on trunklid. Spare wheel matches, too. Every light works, even the dome and trunk. Original blue early '80s CA license plates are in good condition. Car also comes with it's original factory Owner's Manual and a new Hayne's Workshop Manual. Reliable and fun to drive.

Sorry, the N.O.S. Hella H4 & H1 headlights stay with me. But for the right '67/'68/'69, I'll leave them on the car. The headlights have only been driven 100 miles.

Please be in So Cal area. Prefer original black Calif. plates and light colored car. (factory white or beige or any other that's light) E-mail me at: rennsurfer@aol.com

Don't know if you have stumbled across The Samba yet.

http://www.thesamba.com

They have a lot of VWs for sale. Might help you in your search for a '67. Here is one that looked pretty good:

Oh, and welcome back!  Wink

Actually, two nights ago, I posted the following ad there:

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=569514

Thanks for the welcome back... although I never really left, it tends to stay within. I've been wanting a '67 Bug since I first saw one when they were new. Wanted one again when I was a teenager. Ended up owning my other favorite year; 1966. The wait has gone long enough... it's time.

I've found two cars on that site. That Zenith Blue one that you posted and a navy blue one. Contacted both of 'em, wanting to come out and buy/see the cars since they're local to me. No response yet. So... I figured that I'd try my luck with trading my second car. Already, I've got two people with very nice complete stock cars that have repsonded. Still waiting for them to reply. One says his car's an Italian model; Savannah Beige with a rare brown interior and only 68, 000 orig. miles. The other is a white sunroof from Nor Cal.

I'm WAAAITING. HAHAHA!!!

Thanks, Shubee... I've combed that place pretty well. One thing I've noticed with that place; NO ONE returns e-mails or phone calls. Either they're not serious about doing business, lazy, and/or I'm extremely impatient. I'm gonna go with the latter. HAHA!! But, c'mon... two days is more than enough waiting time to respond to some phone calls, yes? Oh well. I'll keep trying.

Yeah, I've seen a few of those around here. That one, however, should have more correct stuff on it for THAT much money. No reverse lights, wrong year on the spare wheel, no wire cover in trunk, etc. blah blah. He outta just gimme the car and I'll do a proper Cal Look to it. HAHAHAHA!!!

Very true... now, if everyone will just hand over their '67 Sedans, this will all be over in a few short moments. Thank you for your cooperation. Please drive through.

That's one clean Beemer. If you are including late models, why not expand up to 1970... virtually no difference Wink

Very true, Zach. But to answer your query, I prefer VWs with '69 & earlier black CA plates. 1970 was the first year with the blue plates. I'm picky like that.

Thanks for the kind words regarding my car.

Fred, how much you looking to spend? I know a guy who has a bone stock '67, ruby red, no rust, no rot, really clean. B-level exterior paint, but very presentable. Guy's looking for 8k. Not a bargain, but better than most out there.

Jeffrey, is the car in CA? For a really clean car, I'd be willing to trade my silver car and add some cash. Otherwise, a straight trade will do fine. I'm not looking for a show quality car... just something that has no rust and presentable paint. I'll gladly finish the interior, myself. I prefer the car to be all stock and intact. A bonus would be black CA plates.

Jim, those cars look nice! I'm guessing they're in the S.F. area? I really dig the beige one. I'll try to contact the seller and see what happens. I've been lurkin' on Craigslist and every classified site, looking. My thanks to both of you... I appreciate it.

No, this is a jersey car. It's very presentable. My comment regarding the paint is an abundance or orange peel. A little wetsanding might do it wonders though. Regarding a trade, they are looking to buy a house so the BMW wouldn't work for them.

The others ones listed looked good. One thing about clean rust free cars here in the northeast is that they go for a premium. Daily drivers in Cali can bring top dollar out here.

True 'bout the orange peel factor. Thanks for the good lookin' out. I'm probably better off selling the 320i outright, which shouldn't be a problem... seems like I've got the only one on the road. I never see 'em out here, anymore. Just up until 10 years ago, they were everywhere. It's a great car and I really don't wanna sell it. But I gotta build another Bug. Guess I'll continue to be patient.

My God... that Jersey car is NICE! Thanks for showing me that, Jeffrey. The owner of the beige one, up north, says that she's looking to trade for a 2005 4-Runner. Oh well. She's only asking $6k. I was hopin' to trade and give her some cash. The search trudges forward. HAHA!!
