LMAO @ *correct*. Too funny... there's no right or wrong, it's whatever the country that you live in mandates. What's crazy is when I was in the Caribbean for two weeks and drove on most of the several islands that we were on. On St. Thomas or one of the Virgin Isles, they had LHD cars and drove on the right side. Talk about many accidents every day! We saw a few tourists who couldn't get it together. That was 18 years ago... hopefully, they've improved their system and made it like either the U.K. or U.S. not in between.
Sorry to get a trifle off from topic... but when I hear that, I gotta laugh.

I find it truly bizarre that German cars modified in a style popularized by Americans would be so popular in Thailand.
Looks like you guys throw a pretty good party too... mmmm Thai Food!

WOW I never knew Thailand had such a thriving scene! There are so many nice cars in your club!
Do you guys come from far to meet or are you all local to Bankok?
Also I love the fact the for us UK guys you drive on the correct side of the road
and have RHD dubs, I presume that with the climate your cars are pretty rust freen to start with?
Regards,
Rob.
Yep, most of us live in Bangkok.
Even though Thailand's quit hot all the year, but the wheather's very humid.
Rust free dubs difficult to find one.

eh and gang,
i am your neighbour, malaysia. i work down south in Songkhla, but my office in BKK. i travel there a lot....can share your contact??
need place to source for parts.
have to agree, lots of nice cars in Thai. Scene in Malaysia is a shame.
restoration quality is also very good in Thailand. i like the beam you made.
i actually met a guy with a European 68 all stock standard, his name is Khun Terd, met him in Songkhla, he has a bar here. he told me he did up the car in Hatyai.
i drove to hatyai last week, guess what i got lost.

Wow! How could I miss this thread?!
Your cars are fantastic! Did VW ever officially import cars to Thailand or is there even a VW plant?
I just told my girlfriend that we will have to go to Thailand very soon!
Bye,

I think it is difficult to import our VWs in Thailand no
I remember have shipped over 2 cars in a 40ft container
I had to sent the car without engines into the container
and the engines I had to ship seperately into an other seaport
so that was a difficult operation at that time
I just told my girlfriend that we will have to go to Thailand very soon!
oh oh oh for what reasons Tobi

We had an officially dealer for VW in Thailand called "Prachayont" which means the same as Volkswagen :-)
The company start their business since 1953 - 1972.
In 1972 there was VW plant in Bangchan, a district of Bangkok, the plant start assemble VW so far.

Hey pupjoint, I think I've seen your name somewhere on internet maybe the VW site of Newzealand "nzveedubnuts.com"?
If you could drive further up to Bkk it will be great! We plan to drive to Malaysia in the end of this year as we did drive to LAO before :-)

You would die out here if you run in Bangkok without a/c.
I KNOW!! I cant believe how you manage to get any work done in that heat and humidity... but then I'm used to seeing polar bears in the streets

For the tire dimension, 185-55 is very popular for up front refer to limit tire size available in Thailand.
135s or 145s also available, but it's quite expensive since we have to import.
You might see some our car's member put 135s up front included mine.
And, 205-65 or 215-65 are popular for the rear.
Thanks for the info!

Great looking rides, great looking "presentation" (love the display of cars!!). That is some serious quality cars there! Big thumps up!
Planning on going to Thailand next year with my wife and our three kids. It's like Thailand has become the "new" Canary Islands, or Mallorca, for us Northerners living in cold, dark Scandinavia!
...now I just found another great reason to go!
Thanks for sharing!
cheers,

Umm about Berg, CB and etc... We dont have such a distributor in Thailand. Just buy it from outside.
Internet seems the only way I could have a chance to get those parts to my VW.

Wow...haven't visited here for 2 days, it's now gone to page 3.
I think, after talking on the phone with Pee Eh today, CCF has achieved more than just introduction the group but Thailand as well.
Many of you might have had other perceptions and found it difficult to start gaining the knowledge of the country. It's now easier here through VW beetles.
Pee Eh, PPP, myself and others will surely visit here regularly now and...
looking forward to seeing you guys in THailand, if you could make it.
