From a Buggy House Newsletter , dated 11/17/1998:  We've all been there.  Some situation that takes on such a degree of importance that the task at hand becomes a ritual, sort of like prayer to an ancient Rain God or something.  The perfect day is selected.  The phone ringer is shut off.
The shades are lowered.  The sacrificial alter is cleared for the deed at hand.  We strive to filter the etheral air about us and to drive as much concentration towards.....building the VW engine.

(The sacrificial alter must have been my washer and dryer in the garage.)

This newsletter is about builing a "bargain/monster motor" for Little Frank, whom I believe is
sheep, until 3:30am.

Then it goes on to Frank driving the "67 Monster Bug with questionable brakes.
"Before we knew it, the speedo needle was down beyond the oil-warning-light.  Hey, Frank, did you forget about his car's lack of brakes?

Oh those days

I forgot about the top getting burned. I think we told you it was a BBQ that burned it. I think it was something less innocent that did.

Yeah we sold it to Angie, I taught her to drive in  it. She drove it until she bent the hockeystick in  it and then sold it to Frank,

fun car...but too bad it was a 1967 convertible that got the knife.
