Yep, that's Jim back when we were in a constant search for rare and interesting Porsches.  Jim, i'm sure you remember all the details of the trips to Jerry Woods' shop and the overnight trip to Andial, Aase, Vasek Polak, etc?Huh  Smiley

WOW very cool old pics from 1990's, man I was thin. Wish I could give back all these lbs.
Yes those pics are from Aase Bros after our midnight run to Pomona that night from Livermore. Same weekend as you pounding beers in desperation in hotel parking lot. And same weekend as Sea Monster in pool of Cockroach Cottage in Anaheim. Still feel dirty after sleeping there. Couple of other details from the pics.... pink KG is old Buggy House SG car I went 11.38's @ 116 in @ Sears Pt...fun motor to build, because it wasn't my money.  Grin  Pic of my car and John's car with decklids up....probably after some stupid high rev run out @ Patterson Pass, you can see old Porsche 912 breather fillers we ran thanks to SODA Wenzel who machined those adapter plates to screw to alternator stands. Yes your 1776 killer that never made it.... Sad  good old Chinese cam gears. And yeah we all had the holy grail "917 style" cutout switches.....like we all thought we were Steve McQueen. Pictures of my car with other BRM red car is at Solvang 1996, that's Larry McKenzie's '67, we both drove our big motor'ed cars to Solvang that weekend from Buggy house. Lots of fun. That campground in the background.....home to the drunken and loud "Speed of Light" theories @ 3:30am, nearly got us killed that night.
Very fun pictures, thanks Derek....do you have some more of your Bug and old club stuff? Such good memories of a very cool time for us kids.

You guys are really lucky to have grown up with this car culture and friends that were into it as well.

I don't remember you holding a camera very often John. Or you know who had control of it.

I remember that day in driveway like it was yesterday, down to what the weather was like that day. Seem not all that long ago.

That few years we ran around as a club was a blast, Derek. Made some great friends.

We need a Aufklarung reunion. Maybe at the 2008 Classic, or the September Bug O. May may be a little tight for you, huh?

it would be fun to get all the old members back together, but not So Cal. It would have to be in one of these places:

Hopyard Ale House in Pleasanton
Lyons in Pleasanton
Frank's old house (prob near impossible)
1288 Heather Lane (again "     ")
Raymond Rd

now who wants to call everybody?
Classic '08 is going to be VERY iffy for me this year.

A reunion is a great idea!  Grin

Were those last shots taken during the '99 Classic weekend??

I remember being at Knolwoods that year and getting so sick and tired of seeing IDA'd 67's with BRM's... they were everywhere! Cheesy
