Cal-look Timeline
«

Has anyone ever done a Cal-look timeline that charted both changes in styles and major events in Cal-look history? (Shows, major clubs starts/stops, influential cars, etc.) If you were to make one, what events, styles, mile stones & dates would you include? Maybe we can list stuff out and make one up, Include pics if you have any. You don't have to do a complete time line, just list what comes to mind what would be important to include.

Sure, but if everyone brainstorms and contributes it could be a lot of fun, as well as informational. You could start off simple with a listing of diffrent styles and dates, then fill in from there. So:
(Not sure on the years)
Pre-Cal-look/Early Cal-look. DKP1 Style cars
Arnson/Holmes Era
Late 70s - Early 80s (Semi Monocrhome Look)
80s - 90s Full Custom Cal-look
90s - 2005 Resto- Cal/DKP III/DRKC Style cars
2005 Retro-Cal/Race-Cal? (Heavy 70's influence or drag car influence maybe?)
Get a little tighter on the years, find some cars representative of those eras. Add in when major clubs started/stopped, influental events started stopped, when Cal-look took off in Europe, etc.

Says the guy who wrote the book.
Yeah it may be too big of an undertaking, but I figure with all the people we have on these boards who were there, it might be possible. But maybe not.

As I use every excuse to mention the SCC, here´s the poster from LAST year, expertly designed by SCC´s in-house slave, JHU!

I'm amazed at how many cars I see with broken rear axles and the drivers don't seem to notice !

Out of those five cars I'm amazed to find that you dislike the LAST one Ratto?
This drawing is made out of a European perspective, and this is how many europan cars look today. Weekend warriors..

They were drawn for that poster, but a shirt is a good idea. I will take it up with the SCC crew.

Come to think of it, so would I.
If the print is shades of gray, what color should the shirt be? White?

I suggest any shade of gray for the t-shirt color... light, medium, or dark. That would look cool.
