They're pretty funny. From what I understand, they were filmed near Denver. My friend who is a car detailer cleaned that Bug before the filming.

I hate watching television, but I love The Simpsons... been catchin' those VW commercials at night. GOOD STUFF! As usual, VW has the best car ads, hands down, since they began advertising.

I cant stand them. It reeks of hypocrisy after what VWOA tried to do the VW after market. I still wouldn't own a new VW Product.

VWOA sicked their lawyers on several VW aftermarket retailers for the use of the VW logo and the other "copyright" infringements.

True, that... as did Volvo and Porsche back during the '90s. I've been taking my Volvo cars to the same mechanic since the late '80s near my house. When the original owner was still alive, it was called The Volvo Clinic. Later, Ken's Volvo Clinic. Volvo Of America did the same thing and made him (along with any other garages or parts stores) remove the Volvo name. Till he passed away, it was Ken's Swedish Car Clinic. Since then, one of mechanics bought it from the family and changed the name to Fjords Of Sweden.

I've seen the same thing happen to various Porsche & VW garages around my area back then, too. Kinda lame... because I fail to see how using a factory name will take money from the respective factory's pockets. You'd think they'd fully stand behind that because customers are paying the factories for their replacement parts. Guess I'm too naive like that.

The American Car companies do a great job of supporting their classic car following because they know that these people are loyal to the name brand and will buy the new cars as well.

I'm not surprised, learning that... it's easy to look anywhere in our country and witness the longtime thriving U.S. car scene. It's been going strong for much longer than my 45 years of existence on this ball that we call Earth.

If you stop and think about it, VW has always had clever advertisements...the newest ads are no different.  The owners here at Commonwealth VW have "commisioned" Rich Kimball to do a black 1965 bug for the showroom floor.

Nice. Please let us know when that's done, Sarge. I'd love to drive out and take pics of that.
