its pretty crazy, if you are going to rebuild those cars, you have to have all of the original old speed parts. We all know how much they cost, and how difficult it is to find those parts, but actually acquiring the car is just the tip of the iceberg. A set of front wheels is $1000, and how many other parts are there left to find?!

TBH though there cheap and i dont think they will be there for long!! So call it 500 , well Bogart will do a set for 250 a rim , so to get a orignal set of DDS for the same price i think is a good deal Smiley

VWs are still cheap compared to a lot of the stuff that is getting restored.  Imagine if that were a similarly historic hot rod, or drag or lakes car that needed flathead or early Hemi goodies.  Two years ago at the Fall Hershey AACA meet, I touched an original, new-old-stock Ardun OHV conversion.  Price tag?  $27k.  Next day?  SOLD!

To do these cars accurately, that's what it takes.  I don't doubt Russel will do them properly.

with the going price for 4,5 Fuchs those DDS (which are far rarer) don't look all that expensive...

the dds cant be in high demand , not a street wheel i supose, whereas everybody and there gran wants to use fuchs.
