I've been thinking about colours for my next project - The 70's Looker

I really love the porsche 911 colours from the 70's in particular "olive green" has anyone seen a bug in this colour? Or even beter does anyone know a link to a site that has a porsche colour charts from the 70's?

Also any pic's of porsche coloured looker would be great  Wink Smiley

i was so tempted to use it again on my '64 gasser project as i've never seen it on any other car, but i think i should use something i havent used before........and i'm not sure it'd go too well with the interior i have planned. Grin

thats the only shot i have loaded at the moment....if you're interested i can scan some more.

dont be shy if you think its shit..... Cheesy

in the flesh its a really nice terracota color.

That looks like a cool colour dude - its almost like a lighter version of sepia brown - I'd like to see a few more some time (maybe at slough)

I really like the look of the 68 - 69 "gold-green" thats a colour I've never seen used before  Wink

that Goldgreen is really nice....i think a nice old style shade of green works SO well on a bug.

do you have a copy of Volksworld issue 6?

it has such a cool car on page 54....its kinda what i based my Mango Green car on, its on similar lines to that greengold shade.

Cool I'll look forward to seeing them - and no I don't have that issue of Volksworld, Wish I did  Smiley

My main aim with the colour choice is to find an original porsche or vw colour that hasn't been used on a looker before (well at least for a few years)  Smiley its gonna be a hard task I think  Undecided

yeah..it really does, maybe a little more reddy/orange than mine?

or it could be the california sun instead of the Weston-Super-Mare dull, depressive, dole-queue darkness.  Wink

here's a scan of that pic from Volksworld 6.....

it's maybe a little too much on the green side of that Porsche color......?

another color that i've always thought could work well is harvest gold, used on MG's and Maxi's etc.....very 70's.....?

Cesar Pasilla's old 66 looker (RIP).  It was Sepia Brown.

Sounds interesting dude - VW or Porsche Huh

VW, it's for my grlfriend, she's done with being a passenger, with my driving at any rate. It's going to have an interesting engine, a 1776 but with something along the lines of an 84mm crank and 94mm barrels as she doesn't want anything too OTT. Smiley
