i got to spend a day at El mirage dry lake yesterday[thanks to Steve D for driving out there] it was an amazing laid back atmosphere, just run what you want when you are ready,a quite diverse selection of vehicles, quickest we saw was a blown rail run 298mph with some serious traction issues, the highlight for me was the citroen DS with ally big block v8,apart from the intake snorkel it looked remakably stock but had run best of 240mph Shocked
It only ran 175mph as the driver was doing licensing passes but was so cool and different, heres a few piccies Smiley

Amazing place. Funny, but two days ago I wore for the first time in years my 'El Mirage 1989' T-shirt.  Smiley

Great place until the wind kicks up and stirs up the dust. Superb atmosphere!

Good stuff, Richie! I especially like the Citroën DS. I've always liked the SM models, too.

So are you ever going to put up any of the pictures you took of that girl (?) you fancied?  You know, the one in the motorcycle leathers?   Wink

Glad we were all able to make it out there Richie- next time though, Bonneville.

By the way, I think the coolest part about the Citroen was the 750lbs. of steel weight hiding under the trunk lid- oh, and the "extended" dashboard.  Grin
