Hi,
    I am looking at the Ms230 heads from JPM for my 2332cc engine project, Can i have some feed back from people using these nice heads? Cooling ok? Perform well? Anyone using them with a roller cam? Please let me know.

I have a set and I have three friends that has them, Morten Aase, Herbie Niklas and Petter Carlberg.
They are all run on the street and they fill up the car at the normal gas station. Morten has the least horsepower, around 215 hp mostly because of a bad exhaust  (a sidewinder, it has too long primary tubes) .
Petter has about 245 and Niklas has 250. I have the 4" version and I have 286 hp.
Think of it as a CNC Comp eliminator with 15 -20 cfm higher flow, better casting and a lot better cooling -- it even has better cooling than the stock head.
You get the exact cc you need in the chambers, not like the ordinary heads that you always have to cc and flycut.
The rocker arrangement is very impressive.

The bad thing: The price and they are heavy.

I have used SF heads before with Chevy K 400 Springs

I think it is the best head there is on he market, and you can take your egine up to high end of RPM with now thinking of the cooling, and the rocker problem. All problem you can get from other heads on the market has a very fine and solid finnish on the MS 230. I know that Johannes has driven in the blue one with STD cooling tin with more than 220Hk and the oil temp is ok on the high way too.
Take your time, and make a fine finnish for the colling tin so it fits with no leak. Then you will become a nice and strong engine with no problems. One more thing, it will be with high torque and lots of hk.

A nice thing to do before you call Johannes is to now what cam you wil use, so he can make the right rocker arms for you.

225 hp. but we found a couple of ponies in it later. IŽd say close to 235 hp. now. I havent had it on since we found that little error.

I was talking with Johannes friday last week, about it, and there is no problem in use with a roller cam for the MS 230.

My car was on the dyno with the MS 230 and when we hit 4000rpm it was given 235 Nm, the engine is only 1998ccm.

Next day i was second in the race. 

A little more work and some more dyno in sweden at Johannes place, and they will only see me when i start.

                           I emailed JPM, yes it sounds like they will be ideal for the roller cam set up. What rockers are you running? I was looking at running pauter roller rockers and making shafts and blocks to fit the jpm set up.
Just waiting to hear back from JPm on the pricing of the heads, I wanted to see if you have to pay the 25% tax if its going out of the country?

You dont. He can ship them out "export" But you will of course have to pay your local tax instead. I do not know where you are located. But if it is inside EU there is not much gain. If you live in the US or so, there will be a major difference. Enough to pay the freight I guess.

I am running with the JPM rockers 1:1,45 made for the MS 230 with 5 Bolts. And it fits very good on the valve end.

I believe the theory is to get rid of the exhaust heat via the headers, not transfer heat to the heads via fins...

Is it a problem to be solved?

Not necessarily. If the alloy of aluminum is stable with the increased temperature around the exhaust port, and the exhaust valve seat isn't moving around, there shouldn't necessarily be a problem. On the contrary, there are benefits to keeping energy in the exhaust to aid scavenging.
