Hi Donald the Easy way is to cut a vent section out of a 68 or later vert lid you section it in as one piece not two vents I will post some pictures  http://www.sandiegovwparts.com/gallery.htm  you drill the spot welds out along the top edge and then cut along the line  lay the new vent section over the 67 deck lid  mark where it needs to be cut and go for it. an easy way to line it up is the top hole for the Volkswagen emblem make sure the emblem fits in all three holes the top hole will be the new section the bottom  and middle holes will be the Original 67 Deck Lid  here is a Picture of a 3 Vent Deck Lid I built for my 67

Even an easier method; contact Danny Gabbard and call it a day. If I ever score a decent paying job again... I'll be doing that for my '67 sedan.

I would not use the two vents  as when welding them in it warps the deck lid to much and they are hard to get straight the one piece way it fall's in to place I would get another Doner Lid there Cheap.

Donald, I seem to remember hearing that the Karmann vents are 5mm longer than the '68-on vents, although the position is close enough. I know it's not an issue unless you're going for chrome trims on the decklid vents, but worth mentioning all the same! Cheesy

If you follow Samba for example, they go (are offered at) from anything in the $400-$1200 range. I have an NOS one lurking about....

I've got an NOS one up in the roof of my shed. I got it a while back just in case my '67 got rear ended and the Cabrio lid on it got damaged.
