The brakes in my orange Cal Look sedan went out on me when I was on the way home from the beach in the early eighties. I downshifted and used my e-brake. Not a problem. Which one of several reasons why I'll only own manual transmission cars. Automatics SUCK ARSE!

Same happened to me about 13 years ago - I'd only been driving a few months but still had the thought of using the handbrake. Drove a good few miles home, didn't mention it to the young lady in the passenger seat because I knew she'd freak out! Cheesy
