http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290228128144

thats Michael Boyer, I have bought a couple of things off of him in the past. He is obviously making some money on that if someone buys it, but I guess its a free market economy, so if you see something for a good price and pick it up, then try to sell it on for a profit, then a lot of people will do it. It seems to me that the guy who sold it did underprice it a bit and it was on buy it now, so he is the one who has lost out I suppose. It isnt exactly subtle though.

 Cool

Everything has a value, so if the buy it now is on the highside, he will have to find someone who is prepared to pay for it.

I think it's enterprising, I bought a pair of right hand drive split headlamp lenses at a swapmeet for 50p, sold them the next day for £40!

If someones happy to pay $250 for it then I can't see any issue. if you didn't know the cost price it wouldn't've been an issue.

Yeah but not straight away, it must just be me then, stuff like this is for collecting and cherishing, perhaps I'm not ruthless enough.

I must admit I sold something recently, got knocked down on the price, then saw it back up for sale for a much higher price a couple of weeks later and wasnt too impressed, if the original seller saw it he would have the right to feel a bit P-O'd, although he did set the price himself originally.

the thing with ebay is not to expect to much money for anything.then any money over the top of the price you wanted is a bonus.i always sell stuff through ebay thats not worth much.one mans tat is another mans treasure.anything worth money should be sold through the proper channels.ive sold stuff cause ive needed the funds so dont worry what it sells for as long as i can pay for the next part of the jigsaw Grin my feeling on that catalogue is it aint worth the money but if you ask ten different people the same question you,d get ten different answers Wink

At a swapmeet lately I sold a Empi VDM steering wheel for 150€, the same day at the same swapmeet it was put for sale at 250€...
Made me feel a little bad, but I must admit I got the steering wheel by trading it for a crappy black stock steering wheel.

Can't say I havent done pretty much the same thing. Find something poorly advertised on eBay, buy it cheap, and immediately put it back up there with a good description and a load of key words. Double your money.

Yep. Same here. I bought a set of Pauter VW rods for $125 last year and had them sold the day I got them in the mail for $600. Did I rip off anybody?

DDS manifolds was the same as what i paid for them. so no profit. not after a profit, just to cover the cost of bug-in plaque #1, don't really need 2 sets of DDS manifolds.  This is not a simple argument, just that its happened to me before, sold somebody a DDs pulley for a fair price, less than 1 week later it was for sale on here for over twice as much.  I have even taken a loss of some items I sold before xmas, just cuz i needed the cash to pay for my honeymoon.

do you remember those NOS empi door pulls you swapped, did you see how much he sold them on for!
