Hi I looked as close as I could in your picture's but can not see the SFI label or the Mcleod "Clover" stamp on that disc and that would leave me to believe it is a Chinese Copy of the original American made product,
Where did you purchase that Disc from?

Off topic, but it sure is nice for RLR to include a set up guide for this clutch. I ordered mine elsewhere and was told basically figure it out on your own.

Ya I hope my comment isn't taken as a slam as it was not intended that way, ( Although I am known as a smart ass from time to time However)
Here is a link to the Chinese ones.

I've seen probably a dozen real black magic disks with loads of cracks in them, but none of them ever actually failed like that- the owners just noticed the cracks during teardowns/maintenance.
Also, all of those clutches had the clover stamp as well.

Thanks for youre replys
There was a sfi label on it and if I renember right it says "SFI 1.3" and my spare one has the same center as Franks so maybe my spare one is a china copy or a RLR but what do you guys think buy a new black magic and replace it when the crack come and so on or change to a sort of a super disk and go up to stage 3 in presure plate ??

I used a super Daikin and a stage 2 last year on my bug. It could just hold the torque, but started to slip after a like 8-10 runs. A stage 3 might have cured it, but I am going for a 4-puck and a stage2.

Mine has also cracked as well as destroying at least 3 brand new Kennedy Stage 2s, one of them on one pass. I have now changed combo to the competition engineering twin floater set-up, hopefully this will work for me.
Cheers

Hi John. The exact same thing happend to my black magic disc last year. Ran it with a stage 1 pressure plate for like 3 month before it end up cracked like yours, I didnt even ran slicks with it. Dont know if it had that stamp you all talk about. Besides the cracked black magic disc I cracked 2 of my syncroes in my gearbox.
I just shifted to a stage 3 with superdisc a couple of days ago, havnt had the chance to drive with it yet, but a stage 2 with superdisc couldent hold my engine, you know the specs John.
Spring.
