The only gauge panels I can find have 3 holes in them like this: I need one that is either blank, or has two 2 1/16" holes in it, side by side. This will match the panel I have on the other side that looks like this Thanks!!!

Those look neat, but are a little too busy for a Cal Looker, IMO. If it wasnt for the grills, they would be perfect! Looks like I'm going to have fun welding those 3 holes up

Hey hey! Look at that. I wish they had those without the the grills. If I was going with a more stock looking car, they'd be perfect, but I'm hoping to find a flat panel. Thanks for the help though.

How about asking Danny Gabbard to make some? I'm sure he's got the skills! Otherwise, I tink Shubee knows the guy who makes the ones with the grill still in them - he might do a custom set without the slots?

If they have to be fabbed, I might as well just do them myself. I could use the practice anyway!! Do it. It's easy. Just make sure that the part is firmly clamped together and work down the edge very gently. go around a few times...

Think I should make 3 plugs and weld up each hole individually? Or cut the whole mess out and make one big hole to fill?? Just trying to minimize warpage... Danny?

Why don't you cut the shape of the little panels out of 2 pieces of wood, take a thin piece of blank sheetmetal and form it over the wooden shape? No welding, no warpage, much easier imho...

The Problem with useing the Flat grills made today is they are smaller made to fit a padded dash car on an early car they have to big of gap around them

At first I was thinking that this would be too much work, but I think I will give it a try. Also, if I see a need I could go into production!!

What gauge metal should I start with? I'm worried about the little twist tabs on the back that secure the panel- don't want them getting so thin that they snap upon installation...

Who says they have to be thin sheetmetal? I`ve seen them made out of 1/8" aluminum before. Works great.
