What speed do you think it would go with the engine switched off? Shocked

We just watched the video and the first thing that we noticed was just before he launched you could see a car coming UP the return road and it certainly didn't look level. The when we watched the run Mike Pye said "Look at that, it's going downhill!"  We watched it again and it certainly looks far from level!

Well I am sure its still a good car, maybe not a true 9 second car if it is down hill but you have to give massive credit to the guys involved!

Not all of 'em... a few are uphill, or at least look that way.

I am certainly not taking anything away from the car or the crew behind it - anyone who can get a VW to run like that gets my respect. I was simply highlighting what we all thought in my office when we watched the video. And so in the same breath, wonder whether this fact is taking into account when times and speeds are calculated. I know my mountain bike goes a lot faster and quicker down the side of a hill than I can get it to go on the flat!

unless there's a massive slope to the 60ft, it is definitely a 9 second car with a 1.37 Grin

Ivan, that's just crazy. Is not it bizarre how the added element of snow can create the illusion of a downhill grade? Truly, one of the wonders of the world. Just like in the drug culture... powdered white stuff playing tricks on the human mind.

Olley just told me about this post today, so I thought I would dig it up and respond. As Olley said, Mason Dixon is FAR from downhill. It is a level track that was completely resurfaced last year. Thanx for the congrats! Stay tuned...faster times to come.... Grin

No worries, been looking at yours and Jerry Lewis' cars for some time and got to say that I am really impressed with the Unlimited Street East setup.
On this side of the pond most people think the US tracks are down hill maybe we need to stop tilting our heads!

Anyway post some more pics of your car as I can't get onto your myspace gallery as I am not registered on there!
