engine for fastback

Ok so i will make a small topic about the enginetrouble i have and to channel a bit all the help i have been getting so far.
a big thank you allready
so Russel has offered to bring a 63 engine for type3 and that can work out, BUT it needs a bunch of parts to swap from 6 to 12 volts.
- first a new flywheel, that i allready have
-12volt dynamo that i have, but it needs a different coolhouse And a different pulley as it seems to be a different size.
- all coolingtin is different, but in order to change i need to undo the exhaust, which can be a pita... i do however have a collector, but no muffler that can be used on regular heatingsystems.
i also have been working on a spare 1600 dualport and the heads look not good. they have brown deposit on them that i can remove, but i think they overheated and may have problems with keeping CR... or if they are useable at all. the bottomend looks OK and the cam doesn't show any wear but i haven't taken the bottomend appart. and i was hoping not to do so and build it up from were i was now...
any ideas are always welcome.
thanks

look at the wrist pins on the pistons... if there is blueing then the head probably did over heat. if they aren't blued or impossible to get out, the heads may still be okay.
they came out fine and were not blue, but i have to check again to make sure. the engine always ran fine so i didn't expect to see that on the heads...

thanks! but i do have a dynamo, that works, i also have the coolinghouse for the 12V dynamo. but if you have a GENERATOR, i'll buy you 2 beers! been looking for that conversion for a while now, but that is not the main worry at the moment. i always thought type 3's came with dynamo's... not too sure.
i have been looking at my parts and it looks like i can make everything work. the big question is still, WILL it work??? but i have wednesday night and thursday to find that out. allready bought a clamp to hold the flywheel (finally) and a new seal that goes behind the flywheel, just in case.

Hmmm, its not a alternator.... I bring it and you can see, its a original VW replace-part, with sticker on it, for a typ 3 engine....

alright picked up the engine yesterday at chimay and went to work on it right when i got home. worked till 1:30am to have it in the car and change a few things to convert it to 12V. it is a hassle on a type3. so i have switched the pulley, dyno, cutoff, cooling and distributor. and in had to take off the exhaust. got up this morning and went to get some j-tubes and a cheap ass muffler to install as the original one needs some more WD40 to get back on and i don't have time for that. also got a 6V starter that might or might not work... fingers crossed i am off to the garage again.

ah i just gave up!
the engine runs but very bad and i can't get the brakes done, they leak again, the reartorsionbars i switched set the car too low as well... too much work to get it all done. so i'll be at there, but not the car.
