Were publishing dates back then like they are now? By that I mean ahead of the month, reason I ask is that let's say you were born from the middle of the month onwards then as your Mum, the avid HotVW's fan that she was scooted into the hospital  the copy she might have grabbed off of the news stand would have possibly been January / April one rather than the December / March one. Just a thought....

Whats that supposed to mean???
I think its pretty amazing that any "youngster" is willing to tackle a full restoration of a 40 year old car these days. You guys had it easy!

Dude! Don't be so serious! I was just having some fun! I certainly didn't mean for any disrespect. If you took it as such, I apologize.

As far as "easy" well I think that's relative. Sure the cars were newer then and it was easier to get OE parts, But now there's much more access to knowledge, parts and people outside of your local area. The Lounge is a perfect example,, you and I are realtively close... a few hundred miles apart... yet it would have much harder for us to share ideas before.

I'm not saying one is easier than the other, just different.

Its all good. I guess the frown face you posted got my panties in a bunch Wink I agree that the internet and technology in general have made our cars much better then they ever have been, but I still would rather start with a 10 year old car as opposed to my now 40 year old one Smiley
