I don't get it. But if anyone ever did that around my car, at an event, I'd be a little pissed off. Antics like that are better suited in a more open area. That was just way too crowded. Glad no one or no cars got hurt.

While very impressive and done in a safe manner i also think it would be better to keep this away from cars and people just in case !!!

But as burnouts go 10/10

A shame that they stopped filming at 1'27". Now you can't see how they impressively raced through the pits in a safe manner, missing me by a foot and a racers car by merely 1inch.  Undecided

But hey, as far as showmanship goes, they only got outdone by crazy keith during the weekend.  Grin

I too agree with what Russell said - but seeing for myself that he almost hit a young child while he was driving back up to his pits, was not a good thing, and pretty darn scary.  The look on the child's face was horrifying!

Sorry - just calling it as I saw it!

That was a pretty rad burnout.

If you are worried about your car (or your kid, or whatever), move it. It's not like you couldn't hear him coming.

Zach, the burnout was being performed heading towards the crowded pit area. There was no way you could have moved 50 racecars and tow vehicles out of the way. It was the right burnout in totally the wrong place...

Looking through my lens I didn't think about safety implications, but what does put a smile on my face was the policemen willing him on as well Smiley

It was also a learning curve where thankfully no one was hurt and it was amazing Smiley

just my 2 cents BUT shouldn't people be keeping a closer eye on their kids especially as they are at a "RACE EVENT" - just a thought  Smiley

I also agree that everyone wants these people to do these burnout etc and "show off" and then straight afterwards they start sayin - "oh that was dangerous" "That guy is nuts" etc etc etc - Make up your minds people Wink Smiley

monkiboy,

I usually do not comment on these types of posts - but after he did his burnout, his adreneline was most likely pumping, and he drove really fast up to his pit area, with about 25 people running after him, and as I saw it (because I was sitting right there-with quite of few other people) people were in his way.  Of course people should look after their kids at any event - but in this case it was wrong.  I have been going to events for years, and in some cases, he would have been kicked out for doing that!

Just a thought back!

No worries!

I agree - It did look cool - but in a controlled enviornment!  You are ALWAYS going to have kids running around unattended, and that is so not good.  I know the promoters (because I work with Rich Kimball) try eveything they can to keep crowd control under control and safe, but with big events, it is way to hard.  I am just glad no one got hurt in any way!

If i did,nt know what this driver could do i would say it was f*cking stupid.
How ever I know he doz this kind of thing all the time and could easy go around a car only a inch away.
This kind of thing makes shows, but it could get out of hand if the untrained try by example
