I think I can share with you some pics of my project. That's a 1302 in the process of californication

That pic was taken yesterday.

I started up with removing bumpers some years ago, when I had completely no idea what the hell california look is.
I always wanted my bug to at least look a little more 'potent', so during the times when I was not familiar with cal-look rules I've come up with something like this:

But I'm not really proud of that now

About year later I got it restored.

then for some period of time it looked basically like that:

Some years down the road I've met people, who were expirienced in making VWs go fast and the decision of building a fast(ish) bug was made.
At first I wanted just to refresh my motor (69x85.5 at the time) a little with some hi-po parts like a pair of dual-choke carbs, ingnition and 4into1exhaust system, just to be closer to cal-look attitude. And then a big journey began... After hours of chatting a 1915cc has been planned.

Most of my efforts for quite a long period of time went staight into the engine, and almost no other mods have been made. Just lowering front a little. Just a little, coz I made a mistake and chose a standard length strut inserts in conjunction with a pair of 50mm(2in) shorter springs. Unfortunately it still is that way till now, but I've recently aquired a set of adjustible struts Top Line Parts style (don't know the real manufacturer, but they look and work just like the Top Lines).

For a long time while beeing constantly involved finacially in the engine building project I could not afford any decent set of wheels. Untill now.

Well, theese are MWS repros, but I don't care....

Quite a long story, but a non-workin student in Poland is not a good 'job' to afford pricey toys... While dollar and euro is a lot cheeper, it's easier...
